Ted Rosenthal - Piano
Bob Brookmeyer - Valve Trombone
Recorded Live in concert at Memorial Hall Center for the Arts, Wilmington, VT
Executive Producer - Thomas Bellino
Produced by Ted Rosenthal and Douglas Purviance
Ted Rosenthal in duo performance with legendary trombonist Bob Brookmeyer. Together, they explore great American standards spinning out a seemingly ENDLESS ARRAY OF IDEAS while never losing sight of the
JOYOUS SWING associated with these songs.
"Brookmeyer is in top latter-day form and Rosenthal -- an ideal partner harmonically and rhythmically -- is a very tasty, inventive soloist. One of the most human recordings I've heard in a long time - there are two souls up there, talking and singing." -- Larry Kart
"...Good music rewards repeated hearings--that goes without saying.
But in this case, it's very much worth saying,
for this collection of duets reveals more treasures with each listening."
BILL KIRCHNER
PLANET ARTS RECORDINGS
The Planet Arts Recording Initiative was established as a comprehensive artist recording consortium to foster creative expression in an independent environment. The goal of the initiative is to develop and produce new and archival projects with a diverse group of artists and ensembles. Each project functions as an individual partnership between the artist/ensemble and the organization. It is the intention of Planet Arts to establish working relationships that will allow artists to maintain creative and technical control of the music as well as joint ownership of the mechanical license in perpetuity.
TRANSIT SERIES - Planet Arts Recordings has also initiated a program to license, package, market and distribute existing, artist produced recordings and to assist artists and ensembles in the completion of pre-existing projects.
