Digby Fairweather has released this album as a tribute to Pete Strange.

Pete Strange was alongside George Chisholm and Roy Williams part of the greatest trio of jazz trombonists ever to play in Britain. This album recorded nearly thirty years ago at the Pizza Express in Dean Street is a fitting memorial and a "great night" of jazz.

First time ever issue for this 1978 recording from the "Golden Age" of the Pizza Express.

Digby Fairweather has been a working jazz musician since 1965, recording over sixty albums. He has played with top artists such as Dave Shepherd, Roy Williams, Brian Lemon, Keith Nichols and Don Lusher.

Awards include the BBC Jazz Society Musician of the Year and British Jazz Awards. His famous projects include The Great British Jazz Band, Best of British Jazz (replacing Kenny Baker), Jazz Superkings and Digby Fairweather's Half Dozen.
